Emma Starts Pre-K

I tried preparing myself in every way, but I still was not ready to send her out.  I have so enjoyed being with my girl every day, and this selfish part of me does not want to share her with the world.  But, she was so excited!  She loves learning and making friends.  I know she is going to do great!  I had to wear my sunglasses while I left her room the first day that I dropped her off and bolt out the door.  The drive home was an emotional one!  When I went back to pick her up, it was equally heart wrenching watching her walk out of that building so confident and grown up looking, tugging on the straps of her back pack while she made her way over to the car, like she had been doing this for years.
I asked her in my most enthusiastic, up-beat voice how her day was and everything she did, and about the people she met.  She answered and smiled and got all excited telling me about the books they read.

Hannah seemed to love having the house to herself.  She played with all of Emma's dolls, and even ran in to jump on Emma's bed.  I guess I will let her enjoy with while she can.  Two more weeks and she will not be the only kid in the house in the afternoons!

Here are a million 1st day of school pictures, you know, because each one catches a different smile and expression. ;)

How Hannah felt after all the business of day 1!

Day two was much easier!

August 2015

I am tired.  Just a few short weeks before new baby arrives, and I've been busy getting Emma ready for school and frequent appointments, all while trying to keep kids entertained.  Baby number three is definitely more exhausting.

My girlfriends have helped a lot by hosting play dates and running after my little when we she tries to make an escape at the park.  They were also sweet to plan baby sprinkle for me to load us up on diapers and wipes at the best burger joint around, and there was karaoke!  We then got another mommy night out for me and my good friends joint birthday dinner.  I have sure enjoyed all the wonderful friends we have made here.

The girls have enjoyed our days in, lately.  Hannah will bring me her blanket and say, "snuggle?".  I think she senses that things are going to change soon, as she has become even more attached to her momma than before. Emma is enjoying helping her big momma do the chores.  She folds the towels and makes her bed every morning, not to mention running across the house to get diapers, wipes or whatever else I'm too tired to get up and go get.  She loves to rub my belly and sing to baby Ben, too.  One morning I woke up to her rubbing and talking to my belly.  Such a little mommy.  Her love of her "sunshines", or "honey's", or "sweethearts", or whatever she is calling her dollies that day, has rubbed off on her sister.  All I have got to say, is this baby Ben is going to be anything but short on love!
