I'll take happily ever after... with a side of crazy, please.

Wow.  Really, when did life get so good?  I just adore my family.  We are having so much fun over here crafting and relaxing, although, things are about it pick up.  We are planning an Easter party, a dedication, and a first birthday party all within a month of each other.  All are very much worth the extra work.  I love this kind of stuff, and I love LOVE celebrating!

We had a rainy week last week.  Like, five days of downpour.  Em and I were out of our heads crazy bored after having been outside non stop for two weeks.  But, we managed.  We did a little crafting. I made her little outfit for her first birthday and filled out invitations.  We did a little a lot of shopping to get ready for her party.  And, I found the perfect cabinet combo for her very special birthday present from me and my mom.  (My mom is the queen of craftastic ideas).

(This is my really bored, irritated with rain face)

(We are still only halfway done.  Stay tune for finished product!!)

My nieces were in town from Hays, Kansas last week, so we also made it to Kaleidoscope at Crown Center for an afternoon with them. Saturday, the sun was out again, and so were we.  We spent the rest of the weekend playing outside and visiting my brother and his family in Paola. (Prepare for picture overload!)

So far, this week has been back to the norm of long jogs, playdates, and picnics.  Our lives keep unfolding awesomeness, and I'm so glad to be living this crazy happily ever after with such a wonderful daughter and husband!
Have a blessed week everyone!

Can you believe this beautiful girl just had TWINS?!!

Her big girl jammies :(

Coming soon to the Hood...

I know that I have mentioned a million times how much I love my neighborhood.  The other mommy's and I have been planning an Easter egg hunt/party for the day before (so we can still have our religious/church/traditional holiday Sunday).

This isn't just for kids, it is for EVERYONE!  I'm so excited.  As a former activity director, this mama is one party planning fool.  Emma just may be embarrassed at the ripe old age of 11 months come April 7th.
The above costume is currently en route to the Gordon home as I type this.  One of our manly men in the hood has stepped up to be our Easter mascot.  We have bunny hops, Easter egg races, Easter egg hunts, BBQ, and all kinds of fun up our sleeves.

Grandma's and Grandpa's, feel free to join us for the festivities this year!

Color My World...

With blue skies, puffy white clouds, green grass, and flowers of every shade.  I love spring!  The birds are chirping, Dallas is shaved, the windows are open, and our house is empty!  We have been enjoying the outdoors all week, which then carried into our weekend.  What a beautiful weekend it was!  Grandma and Grandpa Gordon came up Thursday night to watch Emma on Friday.  We made it out to the park to play, and took Dallas to go play at the dog park.  Saturday, we began the spring clean-up outdoors.  When it's nice out, you've just got to have a good sitting place to take it all in to enjoy!

Coming out to check mommy's work in the flower beds :)

Last weekend, we were able to get together with the family to celebrate my dear brothers 32nd birthday.  We were also able to spend Sunday with great-grandpa Butch!  What a great guy.  It's hard to believe that life as I know it, would not exist without him!

Last week, Emma and I made a wreath for our freshly painted door.  We also made it to our music class (which was wonderful!), story time at the library, play dates, and an afternoon with great-grandma Erma.

Other than that, we are just loving our little family, playing, and hanging around the house!

Isn't our God wonderful?!

Hope everyone is enjoying this weather as much as we are!  Have a blessed week!
