Giving Thanks...

Last weekend my mom came up and watched Emma for us while we went to the Harvest Ball.  She got some good grandma time, and Brett and I got some good time together. Something that is hard to do these days!  I really enjoyed having some time with just me and her, also.  Sometimes when your a mommy, you just need your own mom.  And, about the only time I ever get to be in a picture is when she is around!

I have so much to be thankful for this year.  A beautiful little girl who melts our hearts on a daily basis.  An incredible husband who helps me get through little life bumps.  Wonderful friends and family.  An amazing God that continues to bless us...  Life is so good.  We really are happy.  The more we focus inward on our little family and our relationship with Christ, the happier we get.

This Thanksgiving was good.  A little challenging, but good.  We got to see A LOT of family which is always nice.  We also got to see A LOT  of the road... not so nice.  Oh, and we also got to see a little bit of the Bartlesville Hospital.... really, not fun.

This year was Thanksgiving at my dad's house in Lincoln, KS.  Since Brett's brother was back from India, and is only around for a couple of months before returning to India for a few more years, we made a stop in Oklahoma first.  Emma was a big hit with Brett's sweet little cousin Melissa!

We noticed that Em was especially cranky, but we also know she is teething and may have been a little overstimulated, so we didn't worry too much.  Friday evening, we noticed that she felt especially warm.  We took her temp and sure enough...102.2.  After a quick dose of Tylenol, we took her into urgent care where they diagnosed a double ear infection.  We picked up her antibiotic and headed home where upon examination, her temp had risen above 103.  This really should have come down after Tylenol, so we headed into the ER for further evaluation.  They were able to get her temp down, and soon enough she was all smiles again.

Waiting to see doc in the ER

The next morning after her antibiotics!

We went ahead and drove on out to dad's house in Kansas.  It was so nice to see everyone.  It was really fun to watch all NINE cousins play together!  This is the first time in a long time that we have all been in the same place!

Cousins!

We made it home late last night.  Emma and Dallas both did so good, but pretty sure neither want to be put back in a car for a very long time!

Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday!
