A whole new world.

It is a whole new world over here for the Gordon's.  A very sweet, new world. We are slowly adjusting to our new family of four.  I don't think you ever get use to the sleepless nights that comes with a new infant, but we are tolerating the lack of rest well enough.  We may be low on sleep, but we are full on love.

We had a lot of company with the arrival of Miss Hannah.  My cousins from Houston were here, Brett's parents were here to take care of Emma and Dallas, my dad came up, and Aunt Gail  and Uncle HJ and the girls helped with Emma. My mom and grandpa came up from Claremore as we came home, and my Aunt Susan stopped by the hospital.  My little cousin Phillip and his wife were just down the hall preparing to go home with their new daughter as we were welcoming Hannah, so they stopped by on their way out.  Once home, my cousin Ashley came by with her girls.  My sweet bonus mom, Tina, stayed the first week with us as Brett was straight back to work.  As she and Dan were leaving Friday night, my brother and family were on their way in for the weekend.  The following week, Brett's uncle Bill and grandfather were in town, so we were able to spend some special time with them.  My mom came back up two weekends ago to help out.  The last couple weeks have just been us, and we are starting to get into a schedule now... well, as best as we can.

Hannah is such a sweet baby.  She sleeps well and is pretty darn happy when she is awake.  We are currently getting up about twice a night for feedings.  Brett is a pretty good help getting up once a night with a bottle that I have prepared for him.

I have been struggling with some feelings of guilt having to share my time between two girls.  Emma is so use to having all of my attention.  She has done beautifully with the transition, so I think it is more me having these feelings.  I try to utilize any sleeping moments of Hannah's to be present for Emma.  Emma really is sweet with her new sister, and very patient with her momma being busy with her new sister. Hannah loves Emma as well.  Her eyes get big and light up when ever her big sis is around. I'm such a blessed momma!

I have learned to let go of a few things since becoming a mom of two.  Like putting clothes away.  I do pretty good at getting them washed and folded, but I'm not sure when the last time was that clothes saw hangers or their proper drawers.  Also, cleaning.  And showering. Oh, and I still haven't put this house together completely since moving.  But it will all be there tomorrow.  Since Hannah has arrived, I've really noticed how grown Emma has become.  I want to really savor my time with them, and chores just get in the way.  For those of you who know me well, you know what a breakthrough that is for me!

Our new friends here in the neighborhood have a daughter Emma's age and a new baby just months older than Hannah.  Momma, Karessa, has been a blessing to me.  She has introduced me to other moms here in the neighborhood through Bunco, brought us food, taken newborn pictures of Hannah, entertained us with play dates, and set us up with the Oklahoma Parents as Teachers.  I'm so glad to have made friends with such a sweet family!

We finally were able to get started with a small group with our new church.  Emma loves that she is finally getting to know other kids.  Turns out, we parents are kind of a drag to be with every day!

I can't really think of anything else to report at this time, and I must hurry if I'm going to squeeze in a shower today ( I know, it's 3pm), so I will leave this little post with many pictures ;).
