Emma Starts Pre-K

I tried preparing myself in every way, but I still was not ready to send her out.  I have so enjoyed being with my girl every day, and this selfish part of me does not want to share her with the world.  But, she was so excited!  She loves learning and making friends.  I know she is going to do great!  I had to wear my sunglasses while I left her room the first day that I dropped her off and bolt out the door.  The drive home was an emotional one!  When I went back to pick her up, it was equally heart wrenching watching her walk out of that building so confident and grown up looking, tugging on the straps of her back pack while she made her way over to the car, like she had been doing this for years.
I asked her in my most enthusiastic, up-beat voice how her day was and everything she did, and about the people she met.  She answered and smiled and got all excited telling me about the books they read.

Hannah seemed to love having the house to herself.  She played with all of Emma's dolls, and even ran in to jump on Emma's bed.  I guess I will let her enjoy with while she can.  Two more weeks and she will not be the only kid in the house in the afternoons!

Here are a million 1st day of school pictures, you know, because each one catches a different smile and expression. ;)

My big girl...

and just like that....

How Hannah felt after all the business of day 1!

Day two was much easier!
