Pumpkin Patch Fun.

We had a fun day at the pumpkin patch the other day.  I love fall, and this little heaven on earth makes fall even more yummy with their pretty flowers, train fun, and pumpkin donuts.  We had so much fun with friends Mason and Crosby, and their mama, Brooke!  I may have gone a little overboard on the picture taking...

The duck thing went on for awhile....  they had quite the conversation.

Homesick.

Our house has been on the market for two weeks now.  While we love the number of showings we have had, we are really tired.  Every morning we clean the house and leave for work, or try to find something to do while strangers come into our home to take a look.  We have always loved going out on little adventures, but we are getting pretty homesick.  Today, I am watching my sick girl nap on the couch after a night full of croup, steam treatments, and tossing and turning.  I hope that nobody wants to take a look today, because I would hate to have to turn away a potential buyer.  My poor baby needs a rest day!

We have a couple of serious lookers, whom we hope to rope into a contract soon.  My baby ticker shows that baby Hannah is due to arrive in less than fifteen weeks.  That means we have fifteen weeks to sell a house, buy a house, set up shop, find me a job, find a new doctor in Oklahoma and have a baby.  Just a little overwhelmed over here!

Emma has been such a trooper!  She is just so much fun.  A couple of weeks ago, we went to a retirement party for one of the nurses I use to work with at the home where I first met Brett's grandparents.  Papa Butch took us on a nice little lunch date before accompanying us to the party.  Emma used her charm on everyone in the room to collect their attention and their cookies.  Such a hoot!

We have had a lot of fun catching up with friends while out of the house...  Trips to Worlds of Fun with the Oberholtz's, to the zoo with our friend Bella and her momma Rhonda, and of course evening strolls in the hood with all of our friends in the neighborhood.

We have made countless trips to the train park and playgrounds around the area...

Every moment we get to spend at home is treasured!

Brett has been doing a great job of taking care of me.  We are all tired, but he still gets up early with Emma so this little mama can get in some extra zzz's, and he takes on dinner duty after a long day of working. Such a great daddy!

Operation: Sell this house.

We are still working on the house to get it ready for the market.  I love our home.  Like, really love it. Even so, when we put on our home buyers glasses, every single flaw pops out.  We know that we can't very well make it a brand new house.  Good grief, we've raised two cats, a giant dog and a toddler Emma here... and it shows.  We know the importance of making the big stuff look fresh, though.  My sweet parents-in-law came up the weekend before last to help.  They fixed doors, replaced doors, cleaned up basements, and went around every interior and exterior wall touching up paint. That's good people right there ;).  This past weekend, we started on the kitchen.  We've done this before.  When we had to sell quickly in Houston five years ago, we remodeled the kitchen (along with the rest of the house).  We loved the outcome of our last remodel, and it sold quickly with numerous compliments from lookers on our handy work.  So, we decided to do the exact same thing in this house.  Trim, white paint, and neutral granite counter tops.  It was much easier this time around.  Luckily, this house is already trimmed throughout with the same shade of white, so there is a nice flow.  The old cabinets needed a little TLC with their modular appearance and their blend right into the floor stain.  We are really happy with the contrast of colors and the bright open feeling to our already open floor plan.

We started on Saturday by detailing the cabinets with trim.  Later that evening, we taped everything off for a quick and easy go with the paint the next morning.  Sunday was spent sanding, priming, and painting.  Monday, we spent our Labor Day laboring once again with a second coat and touching up.  During the day, Brett was pretty much on his own so I could keep Emma busy and out of the way.  Nap times and late into the evenings, it was the Gordon duo once again slaving away.  We make a pretty good team.  I love that my sweet guy is so great at this stuff.

The only down fall of his great work, is now I really don't want to leave.

Here are a few pictures of me and Emma staying out of Brett's way.

Have a great week!
