Catch up: part 1

I've been gone for awhile, for good reason.  I will share details later.  For now, how about a little catch up from the last month.  This is going to be a little piece by piece putting together of the month of June.  So from the top...

We celebrated our five year anniversary!

Five beautiful years.

We have had a lot of fun over the years, and some things that we are glad to have behind us. There are some things I will always love about this guy, and things that I will just have to deal with... like the farting.  And this absolute need to always be right.  Even when I tell him he is wrong, but then he does it anyway, and then his plan fails, and then I say I told you so, but he continues to think he is right about everything.  Things like that I just have to live with, because besides that he is pretty great and I really love him.  The good definitely outweighs the bad.

We didn't really do anything too special.  My dad and Traci watched Emma while we went to dinner.  We came home early though, because we don't get to hang out with my dad and Traci very often.  So really, we just let them do the hard bedtime part while we ate pasta and cake.

Here are a few highlight pictures of our precious runaway wedding and Oklahoma reception five years ago!  Love this guy.

Play.

May has been all about play.  Birthday parties, graduation parties, play dates, girls dinners, neighborhood friends, and sunny days at the zoo.  We've been so busy having fun, that I haven't gotten my camera out even once.  So enjoy these little fly-by snapshots with my phone of our month of play. :)

Two.

Emma is officially TWO!!  Time is really flying.  I'm so glad that I get to be Emma's mommy.  We are so grateful to have such a beautiful, smart, funny girl.

We had a fantastic party on Saturday.  We are blessed with amazing friends and family who came to celebrate with us. Twenty-four adults and twenty-four kids ranging from four months to twelve years came to wish Emma a happy birthday!

It ended up being cold and rainy, so our outdoor activities were a no-go.  Luckily, our basement is unfinished enough to make a mess without a fuss.  I always try to have something fun for the bigger kids.  This year, we headed down to the basement,  handed out shower caps, loaded the tops of their heads with whipped cream, and had them throw marshmallows trying to land them of their team members heads.  It turned into a HUGE marshmallow war between the dads and kids.  So much fun!

The little kids enjoyed bouncing from floor to floor playing with toys.  We were really amazed how well all the children played together in such a small space!

We love you so much, Emma!  Thank you for brightening our days for the last two years!
