April was a fun in the sun kind of month. We had many play dates with our friends in backyards and at the park. My grandpa was still staying with us at the beginning of the month, so he enjoyed some morning kitchen dance parties with us and hiking at a local nature center.
We typically have quite the Easter shindig. This year we decided to skip the costume and party. Between my pregnancy and getting grandpa back in good health, I was left exhausted. Instead, we did a short and sweet little egg hunt in the backyard, made some Easter goodies, then left the kids with grandma and grandpa while we went on a date. Much more relaxing that way! Hannah was so excited to find each egg that she had to stop and open each one as she went. Needless to say, big sister came out with a basket full!
Emma really enjoyed her dance/gymnastics combo class this season. She really came out of her shell.

Emma's love note to Max <3
At 18 weeks, we found out the gender, officially! The doctors had some suspicions we were having a baby boy after some earlier ultrasounds. Emma was so excited to find out she was having a brother. Hannah was really excited that Emma was excited ;).
Before grandpa left for Texas, we enjoyed a fun day down in Bricktown, followed by ice cream at the fountains. Hannah absolutely loved running through the splash pad!
PBS had a meet and greet at the State Capitol. Because Emma loves Daniel Tiger, and I lover her, I bundled the girls up in rain gear, drove to the capitol, waited in long lines with a fussy baby, all so we could get my girl a hug from this furry guy.
A while back, one of the girls from church started watching Hannah Friday mornings so I could go to bible study for a couple hours without having to chase a baby and Emma can play with the big kids. Sometimes, she lets me drop Emma off afterwards so Brett and I can enjoy lunch, or so I can go to doctors appointments. It has been such a blessing to know that I have a scheduled time each week for myself. Being a stay at home momma has been so amazing, but we all need a couple hours to ourselves here and there.
