Happy Hangover

This morning I have a hangover.  Not the alcohol induced kind, but the feeling of exhaustion that  keeps you in your pajamas for an entire Monday, because you had too much fun over the weekend kind.  I'm also sick, so my sleepy or slightly drunk feeling might not only be the euphoric remnants from two days of giggles, but also the result of a cold & flu concoction that I have just finished.  Either way... I'm happy, a little loopy, and not shedding these fuzzy socks and pajama bottoms anytime soon.

My daughter likes to be on the go, all the time.  I happily oblige, as I can relate.  I find comfort in the feeling of productivity that comes from constant movement, even if it is just playing.  Playing is productive.  It improves social skills and coordination, makes us happy, and results in higher levels of brain activity.  So, this weekend we worked on getting smart.  This started at a couple of sweet girls first birthday party.

Emmy and Ella with the rest of the Spears gang!

That's my kid getting caught trying to steal cake.

After the birthday party, we came home for a quick nap to recharge before heading off to Brett's Uncle Bill and Aunt Dana's house for dinner.  Shana and Heather were both back from college.  I can't believe how grown up they are! They were so young when I started caring for their grandmother, and it has been fun to watch them grow into such sweet young ladies! I didn't do a very good job at taking pictures, as my child was taking the house by storm.  You know, working on that brain activity-smart thing.

Sunday, my dad and his wife came to town with Randall, so we got to spend the day with them.  We were also were able to see my brother and his kids for the second weekend in a row!    There was a lot of neuron-firing power going on.

My brother picked up his new mini van.  He is a little excited!

We finished off our Sunday visiting my granny.

We had a lot of fun playing this weekend, but I woke up with a cold gone bad.  We are going to work on quiet play and learning now, as our go-go has turned slow-mo.

Have a great week everyone!
