More June

Soccer went about how we anticipated.  Emma loved it at first.  They had 30 minutes of practice, then the game immediately after.  She did great for practice.  By game time, she had lost interest and you could find her wandering nearby fields.  From time to time, she would show back up and kick the ball a little, then come sit by me on the bleachers for a snack.  She has great coordination and when she applies herself she is a great player.  We will try again next spring.  Dance was a similar experience. She loved it.  She loved learning moves and making friends.  She did not like putting on shows for parents, or even to have her turn to show the class.  I guess that's good that she is not starved for attention but knows how to participate and make friends well.

June Catch Up

I'm still trying to play catch up here.  In July, Hannah turned 5 months.  Emma started soccer and dance.  Brett was Emma's soccer coach.  We enjoyed many, many pool days at our neighborhood pool, and our friends pool.  It was so nice because Hannah was content enough watching the others splash about, and also napped very easily poolside. Hannah continued to sleep through the night, ate easily, continued to breastfeed, and is/was always happy.  I've really been so surprised with Emma how sweet she is and has continuously been with her baby sister.  Hannah just lights up around Emma.  We are very blessed indeed!  Because the spring and summer are Brett's busy seasons, I toted the girls around a lot by myself, but we certainly cherished each moment that daddy was able to join. It's really been nice having family close by so that we can sneak off for little dates from time to time! We enjoyed our summer getting to have cousin Melissa join us at the pool and the zoo, also.  The girls just love her.
